Refugio Nursing and Rehabilitation

The "Manor" is unique. We are one of the few remaining independentyly owned and operated nursing centers in Texas.  All resident-care policies are made on site, not by a company in a distant city.  The Administrative Staff, a group of dedicated health care professionals, are pictured below.  This group brings over eighty years of combined experience and knowledge in the healthcare profession and have worked together for ten years.  Their main focus is to provide compassionate care and comfortable living for each resident during their stay.

Our business is to meet the needs of our residents. We take an active interest in each resident's individuality and have an excellent reputation of taking care of others.

Long time volunteers who have hosted the  Annual Hummingbird Festival hosted at the Refugio Manor.

The "Manor" hosted an award presentation for the Regional Ombudsman.  The Ombudsman program works closely with nursing home residents as an advocate for their best interests.  Our local ombudsman has a positive working relationship with the "Manor" staff and residents.

  The team members at the "Manor" have a dedication and commitment to serve others as a common theme.  We are nurses, certified nurse and medication aides, housekeepers, maintenance, social workers, office personnel and activity directors. Our administrator has over twenty-five years of experience in the nursing home field and has high expectations for care.

The Resident Council votes for the Employee of the Month.  Their votes went to  Oscar, CNA in January 2010;  Laura, Dietary in February 2010; and Christina, Housekeeping in March 2010; Virginia, Nursing in April 2010; Fred, Maintenance in June 2010; Johnanna, Activity in July 2010; Natalia, Nursing in August 2010;  Frances, Laundry supervisor in September 2010;  MaryAnn, Activity in October 2010; Inge in November 2010: and  Brenda in December 2010.

 
Our nursing staff work wonders with our residents, assisting them in the recovery period.  Our Physical Therapy Assistant finds creative ways for each resident to recover from their weakness.

Holidays are special times at the Manor.  Staff are serving residents and their families.
